More Than a Fragrance
Jarhead Aromatics is a veteran-owned, family-operated small business built around a passion for creating aromatic experiences people can genuinely connect with. Every product we offer begins with the same question: Would we use this ourselves?
For us, that question matters.
We do not want to simply create products that look attractive on a shelf or smell good when the package is opened. We want to create products we are confident bringing into our own home and using around our own family. That philosophy influences everything from the ingredients and materials we select to the way products are formulated, handcrafted, tested, inspected, and ultimately offered to our customers.
Small-batch production allows us to remain closely connected to that process. Rather than separating ourselves from the products bearing our name, we are involved in creating them. That hands-on approach gives us the opportunity to pay attention to the details that can easily be overlooked when products are produced solely for volume.
To us, those details matter.
Handcrafted With Purpose
The word handcrafted means more to us than simply making something by hand.
It represents intention.
It means researching ingredients before selecting them. It means evaluating waxes, oils, butters, fragrances, essential oils, containers, packaging, and other materials based on how they contribute to the finished product. It means refining formulations and making adjustments when something does not perform the way we believe it should.
Our wax-based products reflect that approach. We use natural soy wax sourced from U.S.-grown soybeans, along with coconut and olive oil wax blends sourced from a small business here in Florida. For our bath and body products, we carefully select premium oils, butters, and other ingredients based on the role they play within each formulation. Our fragrance and essential oil selections are chosen with the same attention to quality and are free from phthalates, parabens, and harmful toxins.
But selecting quality ingredients is only part of the process.
A premium ingredient does not automatically create a premium product. The formulation has to work as a whole. Ratios matter. Performance matters. Compatibility matters. The way a product behaves during production matters, and most importantly, the way it performs when someone actually uses it matters.
That is where testing becomes one of the most important parts of what we do.
Tested Where Life Actually Happens
Our products are not created simply to pass a production checklist.
We use them.
Candles burn in our home. Home fragrance products are experienced in the rooms where we live and work. Products designed for vehicles are tested in our own vehicles. Bath, body, and household products are evaluated as part of everyday routines.
We want to understand how a product performs outside of the workshop, because that is where our customers will experience it.
How does a fragrance develop after it has been filling a room for a while? Does it create the atmosphere we envisioned? Does a product perform consistently? Does the packaging hold up? Is the experience something we would be comfortable recommending to someone we know?
Our standard has always been straightforward: if we do not love it, we do not sell it.
That does not mean every person will love every fragrance. Scent is far too personal for that. What it means is that when a Jarhead Aromatics product reaches your home, we want to be confident that considerable thought, care, and real-world testing went into creating it.

Our collection has grown beyond any single type of fragrance product because scent is not limited to one room or one moment of the day.
Our candles and wax melts can transform the atmosphere of a room, whether you want something bright and energizing, warm and comforting, dark and mysterious, fresh and clean, or rich and indulgent.
Our reed diffusers, car diffusers, cold air diffusers, and room and linen sprays provide different ways to incorporate fragrance into the spaces that surround you throughout the day.
Our essential oils offer the naturally aromatic character of botanicals for customers who prefer incorporating pure plant-derived scents into their routines.
And our handcrafted soaps, bath and body products, hair care, household soaps, and other everyday essentials allow the same attention to formulation and ingredients to extend beyond home fragrance and into the routines that are part of everyday life.
Although these products may serve different purposes, they share a common philosophy: create them thoughtfully, make them carefully, test them thoroughly, and never lose sight of the person who will eventually use them.
A Family Business With a Story Behind It
Jarhead Aromatics is also deeply personal to us.
We are Tim and Lisa, the husband-and-wife team behind the business. Tim is a retired military combat veteran, and Lisa is a retired law enforcement officer. We have been married for more than thirty years, raised our son, traveled throughout the country during our years connected to the military, spent many years in our home state of Michigan, and eventually made Central Florida our home.
Those experiences have given us plenty of memories tied to places, seasons, people, and moments in our lives.
And many of those memories have a scent.
Sometimes it is obvious. The smell of pine, autumn leaves, fresh coffee, citrus, the outdoors, or something baking in the kitchen can immediately remind you of a particular place or time.
Other times, the connection is harder to explain.
You encounter a fragrance and suddenly feel something familiar. You may not immediately know why you love it. Then a memory surfaces: a grandparent's house, a family vacation, a favorite season, a first home, a holiday tradition, a walk through the woods, a day near the water, or simply a quiet moment from another chapter of your life.
That experience fascinates us.
It is also one of the biggest reasons Jarhead Aromatics exists.
Meet the People Behind the Brand
While Jarhead Aromatics lives online currently (be on the lookout for a storefront in 2027), some of our favorite moments happen face-to-face.
As a family-operated small business, we genuinely enjoy meeting the people who bring our products into their homes. There is something special about talking with a customer in person, learning which fragrances they are drawn to, hearing the memories a particular scent brings back, and helping them discover something new.
Throughout the year, you can find us at events across Central Florida, where we bring a selection of our handcrafted home fragrance, soap, bath and body, and household products for you to experience in person. You can also come see us most Sundays at the Clermont Farmer's Market, where we love catching up with returning customers and meeting new ones.
These conversations are an important part of Jarhead Aromatics. We do not want to be a faceless brand behind a website. We want our customers to know the people who formulate, pour, make, test, package, and stand behind the products they purchase.

When we develop fragrances, we think beyond individual scent notes.
A fragrance may contain citrus, vanilla, lavender, cedarwood, amber, florals, spices, fruit, smoke, musk, or countless other aromatic elements, but the list of notes alone does not tell the entire story.
What does the fragrance feel like?
Does it remind us of walking through a forest after the rain?
A warm kitchen in October?
Fresh laundry moving in a summer breeze?
A cold winter evening with something sweet baking nearby?

Those are the experiences we hope to capture.

Many of the decisions that go into our products will never be visible to the person using them.

You may never know how many versions of a formulation were evaluated.
You may never see a test batch that did not meet our expectations and therefore never became a product.
You may never know why one material was chosen instead of another or why we decided a product needed another round of testing.
And that is perfectly fine.
Because our goal is not for you to think about all of those details every time you use something from Jarhead Aromatics.
Our goal is for you to experience the result of them.

Thoughtful Choices Beyond the Product
Our attention to detail also extends to how our products make their way into the world.
Whenever possible, we support other small businesses when sourcing materials. We look for opportunities to reduce unnecessary waste, and our packaging is designed to be reusable and/or recyclable where practical. In some cases, we even handcraft the containers used for our products.
We know there is always more that businesses can do, and we continue evaluating materials, formulations, packaging, and processes as Jarhead Aromatics grows.
For us, quality is not a finish line.
It is an ongoing responsibility.
